Summary of this proficiency test:

On 30-May-05, the proficiency test “Disperse dyes” (iis05A02) was finished. It started on 16-Mar-05 (see message “Proficiency Test on Disperse dyes started” on this website) when the samples were distributed.

In this international interlaboratory study 26 laboratories in 10 different countries have participated.

The participants were asked to determine: 27 forbidden disperse dyes: Acid Red 26, Basic Red 9, Basic Violet 14, Direct Black 38, Direct Blue 6, Direct Blue 28, Disperse Blue 1, 3, 7, 26, 35, 102, 106 and 124, Disperse Brown 1, Disperse Orange 1, 3, 11 and 76, Disperse Red 1, 11 and 17, Disperse Yellow 1, 3, 9, 39 and 49.

The proficiency test report summarizes per test, the test results, the analytical methods reported by the participants and the z-scores calculated by iis for each participant are tabulated. Also, for each test, the calculated summary (e.g. mean, standard deviation, reproducibility) is given.

In the report also an evaluation of the test results is given. Problems encountered in the analyses are mentioned and - where possible - suggestions for quality improvement are formulated. For each test a comparison is made between the results of the group of participants and the requirements given by the relevant standard (e.g. ISO, DIN, ASTM).
