Summary of this proficiency test:

On 22 September 2008 the proficiency test on B100 biodiesel started with 29 participants from 15 different countries.

On that date, sample #0855 (1.5L) was dispatched to the laboratories. Enclosed to the sample was the instructions to the participants for this proficiency test, forms for the reporting of the analysis results and the material safety data sheet (MSDS).

The sample has to be analyzed on: Acid Number, Acid Value, Carbon Residue, CFPP, Copper Strip Corr. 3h/50ºC, Total Contamination, Density @15 ºC, Flash Point , Iodine number, KinematicViscosity @ 40 ºC, Oxidation Stability, Sulphur, Sulphated Ash, Water , Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorus , Potassium, Sodium, Methanol, Glycerides, Glycerol and Total Ester content.

The deadline for reporting results is set on 24 October 2008. A laboratory that sends in results after deadline will definitely not get direct feedback in case any of its results are suspect! So be in good time to get the most out of this proficiency test.
