Summary of this proficiency test:

On 17 September 2008 the proficiency test on Gasoil started with 164 participants from 71 different countries.

On that date, the samples (0852 and 0854) were dispatched to the laboratories. Enclosed to the samples were the instructions to the participants for this proficiency test, forms for the reporting of the analysis results and the material safety data sheet (MSDS).

The samples can be analyzed on: Ash content, Cetane Index, Carbon residue, Cloud Point, Cold Filter Plugging Point, Density @15ºC, Flash Point PMcc, Kinematic viscosity @40°C, Lubricity, Oxidation Stability, Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons, Sulphur content, Total contamination, Water content, FAME content, Distillation at 760 mmHg, Cetane Number and Derived Cetane Number.

The deadline for reporting results is set on 17 October 2008. A laboratory that sends in results after deadline will definitely not get direct feedback in case any of its results are suspect! So be in good time to get the most out of this proficiency test.
