Summary of this proficiency test:

On 2 April 2008 the proficiency test on Gasoil 5% FAME  started with 75 participants from 33 different countries.

On that date, the sample (1,5 liter ) was dispatched to the laboratories. Enclosed to the sample were the instructions to the participants for this proficiency test, forms for the reporting of the analysis results and the material safety data sheet (MSDS).

The sample has to be analyzed on: EN 590 profile and other tests: Ash content, Cetane index (ASTM D976), Cloud point, Cold filter plugging point (CFPP), Conradson carbon residue (CCR), Density @ 15C, Distillation, Flash Point PMcc, Kinematic viscosity @ 40 C, Lubricity, Oxidation stability, Polyaromatics Hydrocarbon, Sulphur content, Total contamination, Water content and FAME content.  

The deadline for reporting results is set on 2 May 2008. A laboratory that sends in results after deadline will definitely not get direct feedback in case any of its results are suspect! So be in good time to get the most out of this proficiency test.
