Summary of this proficiency test:

On 19 March 2008 the proficiency test on Naphtha   started with 87 participants from 38 different countries.

On that date, samples #0824 (1L regular) + #0825 (100ml low Hg) + #0826 (100 ml medium Hg) + #0827 (100 ml high Hg) + #0828 (100 ml regular spiked for PIONA) were dispatched to the laboratories. Enclosed to the samples were the instructions to the participants for this proficiency test, forms for the reporting of the analysis results and the material safety data sheet (MSDS).

The samples have to be analyzed on Colour (Saybolt), Copper corrosion 3hrs @ 50 C, Density at 15 C, Distillation (D86: IBP, 50% recovered and FBP), Mercury content (as Hg), Mercaptans, Methanol, MTBE, DIPE, TAME, Organic chlorides and Sulfur and also PONA / PIONA / PNA: n-Paraffines, i-Paraffines, Olefines, Naphthenes, Aromatics, C4 and lighter hydrocarbons and Compounds with bp > 200°C

The deadline for reporting results is set on 18 April 2008. A laboratory that sends in results after deadline will definitely not get direct feedback in case any of its results are suspect! So be in good time to get the most out of this proficiency test.
