Summary of this proficiency test:

On 6 February 2008 the proficiency test on Gasoil started with 80 participants from 41 different countries.

On that date, sample 0810 was dispatched to the laboratories. Enclosed to the sample were the instructions to the participants for this proficiency test, forms for the reporting of the analysis results and the material safety data sheet (MSDS).

The samples have to be analyzed on EN 590 profile and other tests: Ash content, Cetane index (ASTM D976 and D4737), Cloud point, Cold filter plugging point (CFPP), Colour, Conradson carbon residue (CCR), Copper Corrosion 3hrs., Density @ 15C, Distillation, Flash Point PMcc, Kinematic viscosity @ 20 C, Lubricity, Nitrogen, Pour Point, Sulphur content, Total acid number, Water content and Aromatics (mono-,di-, tri- and poly-) and Solvent Yellow.

The deadline for reporting results is set on 7 March 2008. A laboratory that sends in results after deadline will definitely not get direct feedback in case any of its results are suspect! So be in good time to get the most out of this proficiency test.
