On 17-Apr-02 , the proficiency test Phtalates in PVC ( iis02A01 ) was finished. It started on 20-Feb-02 (see message “Proficiency Test on   started” on this website) when the samples were distributed.

 During the meeting of the iis advisory board in Lisbon (Portugal) in July 2001 it was decided to organise a proficiency test for the analysis of Phtalates in PVC. In this international interlaboratory study 20 laboratories in 13 different countries have participated.

 The participants were asked to determine  eleven individual phthalates (DINP, DEHP, DNOP, DIDP, BBP, DBP, DPrP, DPP, DCHP, DEP and DHP) and other (OP) and total phthalates (TP) .

 The proficiency test report summarizes per test, the test results, the analytical methods reported by the participants and the z-scores calculated by iis for each participant are tabulated. Also, for each test, the calculated summary (e.g. mean, standard deviation, reproducibility) is given.

 In the report also an evaluation of the test results is given. Problems encountered in the analyses are mentioned and - where possible - suggestions for quality improvement are formulated. For each test a comparison is made between the results of the group of participants and the requirements given by the relevant standard (e.g. ISO, DIN, ASTM).
